March 26 Roundtable: Meet Avery Shenfeld

Hello CTA members,

We are happy to announce our upcoming Hybrid Canadian Treasurers Association Roundtable event on March 26, 2025, from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm. This is our first of 2025 and we hope to see any members as possible joining us in person.

The event on March 26th will be hosted by CIBC. CIBC's Chief Economist, Avery Shenfeld, will be a guest speaker at the event and will provide an economic update about these turbulent times.

Avery Shenfeld is Managing Director and Chief Economist at CIBC, having been with the firm since 1993. He holds a Ph.D. in economics from Harvard University. A sought-after commentator, Avery follows economic developments and their implications for financial and asset markets. He has been consistently ranked as one of the top economists in a survey of Canadian institutional equity investors, and has multiple awards for forecast accuracy in the US and Canada from Dow Jones Market Watch, Bloomberg Markets and Consensus

Economics. His prior background includes experience in management consulting, on the economics faculty at the University of Toronto, and lecturing in the summer program at Harvard's John F. Kennedy School of Government.
